Fresh Kesar Mangoes - Naturally Grown 🥭

We carefully check each mango before packing. These are naturally grown fruits — not supermarket-perfect — so small blemishes or light wrinkling are normal.

We can’t cut open every mango, so we’re unable to refund for any internal issues. If there’s visible damage on the outside, send us a photo and we’ll review it.

To enjoy them at their best, keep your mangoes at room temperature and eat within 3 days of arrival.

What Do Kesar Mangoes Look Like?

When ripe, Kesar mangoes display a warm golden-yellow skin, occasionally with a blush of red on the shoulders. Inside, the flesh is a deep saffron-orange, smooth, and nearly fibreless, making it ideal for fresh eating or culinary creations. Kesar mangoes are medium-sized, typically weighing around 200–250 grams each, with a plump, rounded shape.

Kesar Mango Price and Offers

Our Kesar mangoes are priced per box of 12 handpicked fruits, offering unbeatable quality and value. Looking for the best Kesar mango price? Check our seasonal offers and bulk discounts when you order more than one box.

What is the Kesar Mango Price per KG?

Each Kesar mango typically weighs between 200–250 grams. Our boxes contain 12 handpicked fruits, giving a total weight of approximately 2.5–3kg per box. While we sell by the box for freshness and convenience, the approximate price per kilogram remains highly competitive compared to other premium Indian mangoes.

To calculate the per-kg price, simply divide the box price by the total box weight. This offers excellent value for authentic, air-flown Gir Kesar mangoes at peak season quality.

Do You Offer Jumbo Kesar Mangoes?

We specialise in Gir Kesar mangoes sourced directly from Junagadh and Amreli regions in Gujarat. These mangoes naturally range from 200–250 grams each, which is considered standard size for this variety.

Jumbo Kesar mangoes, though sometimes available in limited harvests, are not part of our regular offering due to their rarity and the delicate balance of flavour in smaller fruits. If future harvests allow, we'll announce availability via our newsletter and social channels.

What’s the Difference Between Alphonso and Kesar Mangoes?

While both Alphonso and Kesar mangoes are celebrated Indian varieties, they offer distinctly different flavour profiles and textures. The Kesar mango is known for its smooth, honeyed sweetness, rich saffron-coloured flesh, and delicate floral aroma. Its taste is mellow, creamy, and less tangy, making it ideal for desserts, smoothies, and fresh eating.

In contrast, Alphonso mangoes—often called the “King of Mangoes”—have a more intense, tropical sharpness. Their dense, buttery texture is combined with a bold sweet-sour flavour punch, which gives them a more pronounced zing compared to Kesar’s softer, rounded sweetness.

Both mangoes are premium varieties, but they cater to slightly different palates: Kesar for those who prefer rich, floral sweetness, Alphonso for those who enjoy a sharper, more vibrant flavour hit.

The Origins of Kesar Mangoes

Kesar mangoes originated in the early 1900s in Gujarat, along India’s western coast. The Kesar mango is famously known as the "queen of fruits," rivalling the Alphonso mango. Its name means "saffron" in Hindi, due to its vibrant orange flesh.

Cultivated in 1931 by Wazir Sale Bhai near the Girnar Hills, Junagadh, Gujarat, these mangoes thrive exclusively around the Gir forest region—primarily in Junagadh and Amreli districts.

In 1934, Nawab Muhammad Mahabat Khan III named this mango “Kesar” after its saffron-like flesh, enhancing its fame.

The Special Soil and Climate of Gujarat

The ideal sandy-loamy soils in Gujarat, with a pH of 5.5–7.5 and good drainage, combined with a semi-arid climate featuring temperatures between 25°C to 35°C and balanced monsoon and dry spells, along with Junagadh’s moderate humidity and cool nights, create Kesar’s distinct flavour and aroma. • Bright saffron-orange colour: Signature vibrant flesh.
  • Smooth, buttery texture: Melts in your mouth.
  • Rich in nutrients: High in vitamins A, C, and antioxidants.

Kesar Mango Seasonal Availability

Kesar mangoes are available during the peak mango season, from May to July. They are carefully harvested at just the right time to ensure maximum sweetness and freshness.

Kesar Mango Size & Packaging Details

Each box contains 12 fresh Kesar mangoes, meticulously inspected externally for quality before shipping. Sizes may vary slightly, as this is a natural product, but most mangoes weigh between 200–250 grams.

How To Store Kesar Mangoes

Ripening: Kesar mangoes are shipped just before they reach peak ripeness and should be ripened at room temperature. Place them in a cool, dry spot away from direct sunlight to allow them to mature naturally.

Speed it up: To accelerate ripening, place the mangoes in a paper bag along with an apple or banana. These fruits release ethylene gas, which speeds up the process.

Fresh UK Mangoes Returns Policy

If your mangoes arrive damaged or if there are issues with your order, contact our customer service team for a replacement or refund. Please provide photographic evidence of any issues, as Kesar mangoes are a natural product with occasional imperfections.
