This compote is something you can spread over a loaf of bread for breakfast. It's perfect for elevating your desserts, like Mango Kefir Chia Pudding, or for topping waffles or yogurt. It can also be frozen and served as a sorbet or paired with savory dishes for a sweet and sour twist.
Alphonso Mango Compote Ingredients
- 250g Mango
- 2 tbsp Honey
- 3 tbsp Water
- 1 tbsp Lemon juice
Method
1. Peel and dice your mangoes into uniform pieces.
2. In a medium saucepan, combine all the ingredients.
3. Cook over medium heat, then simmer for 15-20 minutes or until the mangoes are soft and the mixture has thickened.
4. For a smoother texture, gently mash the mangoes as they cook.
5. Once the compote has reached the desired consistency, remove it from the heat and pour it into a container. Store in the fridge for up to one week or in the freezer for up to three months.
